Sybiha: Russia trying to turn all of Ukraine into a battlefield

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on social network X that Russia, failing to achieve its goals on the battlefield, is attempting to expand terror across the entire territory of Ukraine. According to him, Moscow is carrying out systematic attacks on civilians, trains and infrastructure that sustains the country's life.

The minister recalled that on September 12, Russian drones struck railway facilities in Lutsk and Fastiv, with a passenger train also coming under attack. People survived because the threat was detected in time and passengers and staff were promptly evacuated. In Zviahel, in the Zhytomyr region, Russian forces struck a public transport stop, killing at least two people.

Call to close the skies

Sybiha stressed that closing Ukraine's airspace is an important step in overcoming Russia's strategy of terror. For this, Ukraine needs additional air defense systems, interceptors and modern anti-drone equipment to deprive Moscow of the ability to spread the war to Ukrainian cities and transport networks.

The minister also pointed to the need to counter Russia's growing drone production. He emphasized that a country producing thousands of weapons to spread terror far behind the front line should face systematic strikes on this production, its supply chains and the resources that sustain it.

Sybiha said Moscow wants to expand the battlefield, so the response must be to narrow Russia's ability to wage war. He expressed confidence that Ukraine's partners have the necessary capabilities and tools for this.
