Sybiha: embassies instructed to help search for missing Ukrainians in Nepal

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has said his country is closely following reports concerning Ukrainian citizens considered missing in the border area between Nepal and Tibet, where sudden floods recently caused major destruction.

Writing on the social network X, the minister said he had instructed Ukraine's embassies in India and China, together with the country's honorary consul in Nepal, to maintain close contact with relevant authorities and take all necessary measures during search and rescue operations.

Condolences to Nepal

Sybiha also expressed condolences to the people of Nepal over the loss of life and extensive destruction caused by the flash floods. He described the news from Nepal as devastating, noting that the floods had claimed lives and caused significant damage. The minister offered sympathy to all who had lost loved ones and said Ukraine stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal, wishing strength to the rescue teams working in difficult conditions and a swift recovery for the affected communities.
