Three years ago, Latvian entrepreneur Ivars learned about houses in Sicily for one euro and, after research, bought one.

Seventeen years ago, Ivars’ auto parts store went bankrupt during a crisis, prompting him to seek better opportunities abroad. He lived in Spain, Italy, and finally settled in Ireland, where he still lives with his wife. He now works moving furniture and as a self-employed helper for farmers. However, thoughts of returning to Italy never faded.
Three years ago, Ivars accidentally came across news about houses in Sicily being sold for one euro. At first, he thought it was a myth, but after thorough research, he realized it was real. He bought a house and now plans to return to Italy.
