On Saturday evening around 11:30 PM, a woman identified as Gita was walking home across the city canal opposite the University of Latvia building when she was approached by two dark-skinned men, described as resembling Indian or Pakistani nationals, both under 25 years old.

One of the men tried to talk to her while the other followed from behind. After she refused, one grabbed her arm and began touching her. The other man, according to the victim, had exposed his genitals. Gita fought back until a nearby man came to her aid. The attackers fled, and the passerby escorted her home.

The State Police confirmed they contacted the victim after receiving information about the incident and accepted her statement. A criminal case has been initiated under the section of the Criminal Law concerning offenses against morality and sexual inviolability. An investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators. Police urge anyone encountering similar situations to report them immediately.
