Woman describes awkward incident with Bolt driver on social media
A Riga resident shared on social media that her Bolt driver stepped out of the car and relieved himself by the bushes near her home right after she got in. She later received a three-euro compensation from Bolt.
A user on the social platform Threads described an unusual experience while using the Bolt taxi service. According to her account, after she called a car and got in, the driver, without saying a word, stepped out of the vehicle and relieved himself by the bushes near her home. He then got back in and, still silent, continued driving her to her destination.
The post sparked a wide discussion online, with commenters expressing confusion over the driver's behavior. Several users said such conduct was unacceptable and that they would have immediately gotten out of the car and demanded a refund in a similar situation. However, some comments also pointed to the working conditions of taxi drivers, noting that they may not always have access to proper facilities.
The woman later clarified that she could not interrupt the ride at that moment because she was already running late. After the trip, she contacted Bolt and received three euros in compensation for the incident.
Not the first complaint
This is not the only case where passengers have publicly shared negative experiences using taxi platform services. A previous report described a woman who, along with her husband, was left stranded on the roadside in the middle of the night after a Bolt car's tire burst. That ride, from Mežaparks to Ozolnieki, had cost 84 euros, and after the breakdown the passengers had to find their own way to their destination.
It should be noted that Bolt also offers women the option of choosing a ride specifically with a female driver.
