The municipality reports that around 1 a.m. on Friday, an incident was detected in Sigulda where several teenagers, endangering their health and lives, carried out unauthorized actions on the city's heating infrastructure. As a result, more than ten cubic meters of heat carrier with a temperature exceeding 65 degrees were released from the system.

Operational services of the company "Adven Latvija" responded immediately and prevented further leakage. The State Police have been informed.

The Sigulda municipality calls on the involved teenagers to voluntarily come forward, emphasizing that this would be a responsible step. At the same time, the municipality notes that the teenagers clearly have an interest in technical matters, so they are invited for a conversation to discuss the incident and learn about opportunities to pursue a profession as a heat power engineer. The municipality stresses that the sector needs new specialists willing to work with technology and infrastructure.
