Animation on a Wall

At Šveices iela 13 in Sigulda, on the fence of the bobsleigh and luge track, an unusual artwork has appeared. Street artist Kiwie has painted a mural titled “First Ride,” consisting of 90 hand-drawn frames that together form a nine-second animation. The clip depicts a childhood memory of sledding down a snowy hill.

A Gift for the Track's Anniversary

The mural was created as a gift to the Sigulda bobsleigh and luge track for its 40th anniversary. The 184-meter long narrow concrete wall reminded the artist of a film reel, prompting him to create not a static mural but an animation that captures personal memories and the spirit of the city.
