Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, during a visit to the United States, warned that Russia could be preparing a false-flag operation involving Ukrainian drones.

Sikorski referred to a recent statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who said Russia would respond if attacked by a NATO country. According to the minister, Moscow may prepare Ukrainian drones and use them to attack a NATO member or Russia itself, then blame Ukraine.

"Such regimes always do this. Let me remind you of the Gleiwitz provocation of 1939, when Abwehr agents disguised as Polish soldiers seized a radio station on the territory of the then Reich. Our message to Vladimir Putin is: we know what you are planning, do not do it," Sikorski emphasized.

The minister stated that Russia currently lacks the means to attack Poland, but it might resort to provocations against the country. Earlier, media reported that the United States had allegedly warned Warsaw about a possible Russian armed provocation against Poland to "test NATO's resolve."
