Siliņa: Entire Unity board answerable for unsatisfactory election result, to be re-elected
The New Unity party alliance is dissatisfied with its result in the 15th Saeima elections. It will analyse the outcome at an extraordinary congress, which will also re-elect the board of Unity.

The New Unity (JV) party alliance is not satisfied with the result it achieved in the elections to the 15th Saeima. The alliance plans to assess the outcome at an extraordinary congress.
The congress is also expected to re-elect the board of Unity. Decisions linked to the election outcome will therefore be taken at the party's highest level.
The plans were described by Evika Siliņa, chair of the New Unity board, on the Latvian Television programme Rīta panorāma. According to her, the entire Unity board is responsible for the unsatisfactory result, rather than individual representatives.
What comes next
The extraordinary congress will serve as the forum where the alliance discusses its election result and draws conclusions about its future work. Re-electing the board is one of the main issues the party names in this connection.
The available information does not say when the congress will take place or what the exact election figures are. The alliance has not yet disclosed those details.
