Šilovs eyes third win with Penguins, Girgensons faces Flyers

Girgensons' team hosts the Flyers
At 2:00 Latvian time, the Tampa Bay Lightning, featuring Zemgus Girgensons, will take on the Philadelphia Flyers. The Lightning opened their season with a 1:5 loss to the New York Rangers, whose roster includes Latvian forward Alberts Šmits, before bouncing back with a 3:1 win over the Washington Capitals. The Flyers, meanwhile, have yet to win a game this season, with the upcoming matchup being their fourth. Girgensons logged under eight minutes of ice time in the season opener, but his playing time nearly doubled in the second game to 14 minutes and 27 seconds. Last regular season, the two teams met three times, with the Lightning winning all three by a combined score of 15:3.
Šilovs looks for a third win
Half an hour later, the Pittsburgh Penguins, backstopped by Artūrs Šilovs, will host the Winnipeg Jets at home. For the second year running, Šilovs started the season with a shutout win — this year the Penguins beat the very same Flyers 7:0, with Šilovs stopping all 19 shots he faced. In the second game, which the Penguins won 6:5, Šilovs had a tougher outing, saving 20 of 25 shots. His goaltending partner this season is Sergei Murashov, who spent most of last season in the AHL, where he posted strong numbers.
The night's other NHL matchups will see the Boston Bruins face the Ottawa Senators, and the Dallas Stars take on the San Jose Sharks.
