Weather in Latvia will be changeable in the coming days, with moderate temperatures and alternating rainier, sunnier and warmer spells.

On Saturday and the night into Sunday, wind will be light and many areas can expect brief rain, with localised thunderstorm downpours. Sunday and Monday are likely to be mostly dry and sunny, accompanied by a light to moderate westerly wind. Daytime temperatures over the next three days will range from +19 to +25 degrees Celsius.

At the beginning of next week, conditions will gradually become warmer. Tuesday is forecast to be sunny with temperatures up to +26 degrees. On Wednesday, southern parts of the country could see thermometers rise to +29 degrees, but rain and thunderstorms are also possible in many places. During the second half of next week, it will turn slightly cooler at times, with intermittent rain.

Overnight temperatures will generally remain above +10 degrees, though at the start of the new week some places may see readings one or two degrees lower.

According to data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, both air temperature and total precipitation in August in Latvia will be close to the multi-year norms. This suggests the month will be fairly typical overall, without prolonged heatwaves or unusually wet periods, even though individual days may still bring summer heat or heavy showers.
