Meteorologists Warn: Rain, Thunderstorms, and Gusty Winds Expected This Weekend
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre forecasts changeable weather for the weekend, with rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds, especially along the coast.

Friday will be mostly cloudy across Latvia with rain in many areas, and possible thunderstorms and heavy showers, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre. Winds will be light, but along the coast they will pick up, reaching gusts of 15 m/s during the second half of the night. Eastern parts will see light southerly winds, while western regions will experience light to moderate southwest to south winds with gusts of 15–17 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range from +12°C to +17°C, with daytime highs reaching +17°C to +22°C.
The weekend will be changeable: mostly cloudy with occasional clearings, but rain is expected in many places, along with possible thunderstorms and locally heavy showers. On Saturday, a moderate southwest to west wind will gradually shift to west and northwest during the day, with morning gusts along the coast up to 20 m/s. On Sunday, winds will become lighter and predominantly from the west and southwest. Both nights will see temperatures between +13°C and +17°C, with daytime highs of +16°C to +20°C.
Next week, weather conditions will be influenced by cyclones, resulting in frequent cloud cover and precipitation. Precipitation amounts will gradually decrease by midweek, but eastern regions will see more rain than the west. The first half of the week will remain moderately warm, with temperatures around +20°C. Starting Thursday, a warmer air mass will enter Latvia, bringing more pleasant weather with more sunshine and less precipitation.
