Orange Heat Warning Issued by Latvian Meteorologists
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre has issued an orange warning due to an approaching heatwave, with a yellow warning on Saturday and orange on Sunday and Monday.

The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC) has declared an orange warning in connection with an incoming wave of heat. According to forecasters, a yellow warning will be in effect nationwide on Saturday, June 27, while an orange warning will be in place on Sunday and Monday, June 28 and 29.
An orange warning indicates dangerous weather conditions that may pose a risk to health and property. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and take precautions, such as staying in the shade and drinking plenty of fluids.
The LVĢMC also warns that the heatwave could lead to increased air pollution levels, urging individuals with respiratory conditions to limit time outdoors. Additionally, the heat increases the risk of wildfires, so caution with fire in natural areas is recommended.
