Shipsea: Living in Sweden has warmed my relationship with Latvia
Singer, composer and conductor Jānis Šipkēvics, known as Shipsea, who has been living mainly in Sweden for three years, says his connection with Latvia has grown warmer. On June 18, he invites audiences to a reunion concert with the Sinfonietta Rīga orchestra at Dzintari Concert Hall.

Jānis Šipkēvics, also performing as Shipsea, has been residing primarily in Sweden for the past three years, but his bond with Latvia has not faded – rather, it has deepened. In an interview, the artist admits that being away has made him appreciate the everyday things he misses, and his feelings for his homeland have become warmer.
Although life in Sweden has brought significant changes, Šipkēvics notes that the geographical proximity allows him to frequently visit his mother, attend rehearsals, and perform concerts – as if little had changed. Yet, at the same time, almost everything in his daily routine has shifted.
A singer, composer, and increasingly a conductor, Šipkēvics invites listeners to a special event on June 18: a reunion with the orchestra "Sinfonietta Rīga" at the Dzintari Concert Hall. The concert promises to be a meaningful meeting with music and the artist's latest works.
