Ukraine's top military commander, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on Monday, January 20, rejected media reports suggesting a conflict with recently dismissed Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. The statement, published on the portal "Militarnyi," marks the military leader's first public comment on the matter.

Since his appointment in 2024, Syrskyi has rarely given interviews or commented on political issues. However, this time he decided to speak out, noting that his silence in recent days had been interpreted as agreement. "I was surprised to learn that there was supposedly a conflict between me and the minister," Syrskyi said.

He described his relationship with Fedorov as professional working relations involving difficult questions and differing opinions. Syrskyi stressed that such dynamics are to be expected between two institutions during a large-scale war. "I am not at war with the ministry, but with Russia," the commander added.
