Javelin thrower Gailums surprised even himself with European bronze medal

Latvian javelin thrower Patriks Gailums has won a bronze medal at the European Athletics Championships taking place in Birmingham. Following the competition, the athlete admitted that he himself was surprised by the result he achieved.

Gailums said that a certain amount of luck played a role in his success, noting that without it such a high result would hardly have been possible. He also emphasized that he managed to keep his stress level relatively low during the final, which he believes contributed positively to his performance.

The bronze medal at the European Championships marks a significant achievement for Latvian athletics and confirms Gailums' growth on the international stage.
