Brazil defeated Scotland 3-0 in Miami on Wednesday in a World Cup group stage match. Vinicius Jr scored two goals, and Matheus Cunha added a third. Brazil dominated the first half, taking advantage of defensive errors from Scotland. Vinicius Jr opened the scoring in the seventh minute and added a second before half-time.

Scotland's fans, known as the Tartan Army, were praised for their support, but the team struggled on the pitch. Scotland did not register a shot on target in the first half. Their only shots on target came in the second half, when they were already trailing 3-0. Scotland's only goal in the tournament so far came in a previous match against Haiti, a deflected strike from John McGinn.

Vinicius Jr became the fifth Brazilian to score in all three group stage games of a single World Cup, joining Jairzinho, Romário, Ronaldo, and Rivaldo.

Scotland have never beaten a South American opponent and have lost all ten matches against Brazil. Their tournament fate is now uncertain; they sit third in their group and must rely on other results to advance. If they progress, the predictor suggests they will face Mexico on Tuesday.

Brazil advanced as group winners. Neymar made his return to the national team after two and a half years, coming on as a substitute with 14 minutes remaining.
