Scotland eliminated from World Cup, part ways with head coach
Scotland's national football team has been eliminated from the World Cup after finishing third in Group C, leading to the termination of head coach Steve Clarke's contract.

Scotland finished third in Group C of the World Cup, ending their campaign with a single win against Haiti (1-0) and losses to Brazil (0-3) and Morocco (0-1).
Their hopes of advancing to the knockout stage as one of the best third-placed teams were dashed after Ghana's loss to Croatia.
Following the tournament, the Scottish Football Association announced the termination of head coach Steve Clarke's contract. Clarke had been in charge for seven years, leading the team to three major tournaments. He signed a new four-year deal in May, but it will be terminated after the World Cup.
This was Scotland's first World Cup appearance since 1998. Under Clarke, the team also participated in two European Championships.
Group C standings: 1. Brazil 7 points, 2. Morocco 6, 3. Scotland 3, 4. Haiti 0.
