Skuja after EuroCup win: not fully healthy yet, but fighting
Riga Zelli basketball players Tyler Vols and Toms Skuja commented after the win over Ljubljana's Cedevita Olimpija. Skuja admitted he has not yet regained his previous level after missing the start of the season.

In the ULEB EuroCup, Europe's second-tier club basketball competition, Riga's Zelli beat Ljubljana's Cedevita Olimpija 89:79. It was the Riga side's second win in three tournament games, giving the team a positive win-loss record.
American forward Tyler Vols, who scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds, was Zelli's top scorer. Speaking to Sportacentrs.com, he said the loss in Germany still hurts, but the team learned a lot from it and has improved since that game. Vols also said he is proud of how his teammates raised their level in this match.
Different ways to attack
Vols pointed out that the team can vary its play because the strengths of Isaac Johnson and Klavs Cavars differ: Johnson can stretch the floor, while Cavars is physical near the basket. According to Vols, this lets the team attack opponents in different ways. He also praised the fans and hopes more of them will fill the stands with each win.
Skuja still regaining form
Point guard Toms Skuja returned to the lineup after missing the start of the season. He admitted he is not satisfied with his performance and is not yet fully healthy. He is trying to get back to his former level but has not reached it yet.
Zelli's next EuroCup opponent is Hapoel Jerusalem. Skuja urged the team to keep its current confidence and play as it has so far, stressing that against this opponent Zelli will carry on as usual.
