On Friday, riders covered 205.8 kilometers in stage 13 of the Tour de France, featuring one third-category and one first-category climb, as well as one intermediate sprint.

The stage winner was Swiss Mauro Schmid of Team Jayco AlUla, who finished in four hours, six minutes and 58 seconds, securing his first career Tour de France stage victory. Colombian Harold Tejada of XDS Astana took second with the same time, while Britain's Thomas Pidcock (Pinarello Q36.5) placed third, two seconds behind.

Among the Latvians, Krists Neilands (NSN) finished 111th out of 171 riders, and Toms Skujiņš (Lidl – Trek) was 133rd, both 17:19 behind the winner. The main general classification contenders crossed the line 7:32 after the stage winner.

In the overall standings, Slovenia's Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates – XRG) continues to lead, holding a 3:36 advantage over Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard (Visma/Lease a Bike) and a 4:06 lead over Belgium's Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe).

Skujiņš sits 83rd overall, 2:05:06 behind Pogačar, while Neilands is 138th, trailing by 2:49:47.

Skujiņš is racing in his eighth Tour de France, Neilands in his sixth. Neilands' best Tour result is fourth place in a stage in 2023, while Skujiņš finished second in a stage in 2020.

The 113th edition of the Tour de France will conclude on July 26 on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. Last year, Pogačar won the overall title, with Neilands and Skujiņš finishing 88th and 95th respectively.
