SkyeBrowse Adds AI Roof Damage Analysis and New Mapping Tools
US-based SkyeBrowse, which turns drone video into 3D models and maps, has released a tool for measuring roofs and screening for damage. The update also brings new map export formats and improved survey corrections.

SkyeBrowse, a Texas-based company whose videogrammetry platform converts drone video into 3D models and 2D maps, has announced new tools for roof inspections, damage assessment and mapping. Its customers include public safety agencies, construction teams and commercial drone operators. The new tools let inspectors assess storm damage without climbing onto roofs.
Roof damage analysis
The Roof Damage Analysis tool measures a roof and screens it for possible damage from a single drone flight. After a pilot uploads video, the software builds a 3D model, identifies the roof automatically and calculates its area, pitch and individual sections. It also measures ridges, valleys, eaves and other features used in repair estimates. Users can adjust the measurements.
An AI scan reviews up to 16 video frames and eight additional photographs in about 20 seconds. It flags possible hail and wind damage, missing shingles, cracked tiles and other problems, labeling findings “Likely” or “Possible.” An inspector must approve each finding before it appears in a report. The AI is a screening tool and does not determine the cause of damage, insurance coverage or repair needs.
The platform also draws on reports from NOAA, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, covering hail, wind and tornado events nearby over the previous year. Users can produce a PDF report with measurements, diagrams, photographs, storm history and reviewer approval.
Mapping and survey updates
Georeferenced 2D maps can now be exported in formats compatible with ArcGIS, Google Earth, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Global Mapper and SARTopo/CalTopo. DXF contour exports have been added for topographic maps. Users can also correct 3D models using surveyed ground control points; the corrections carry through to measurements, annotations and exported files.
Earlier updates
In October the company launched Timelines, which compares up to 10 surveys of one site, and in September it added AI-assisted vehicle damage analysis and crowd counting. The new features are available on SkyeBrowse Pro and Public Safety & Enterprise plans. Pro models cost $49.99 each, or $39.99 per model with annual billing.
