Smiltene to host Great Autumn Festival on October 10 with four bands
The Smiltene Municipality Culture Centre will hold its Great Autumn Festival for the second year running on October 10, featuring bands Mākoņstūmēji, Ceļojums, Zelta Kniede and Dakota. Organizers report strong interest, with over 100 table reservation requests already received.
In a couple of weeks, on October 10, the Smiltene Municipality Culture Centre will host the Great Autumn Festival for the second consecutive year. This year's lineup includes the bands Mākoņstūmēji, Ceļojums, Zelta Kniede and Dakota.
The evening will open at 8:00 PM with Mākoņstūmēji performing until 9:30 PM, followed by Dakota from 10:00 to 11:00 PM, Zelta Kniede from 11:30 PM to 12:15 AM, and finally Ceļojums closing the night from 12:45 to 1:30 AM. A bar will operate throughout the event. Table reservations can be made by phone until October 9, while tickets are available at the Culture Centre box office or online.
Strong public interest
The Culture Centre reports that more than 100 table reservation requests have already been received, leaving the small hall nearly fully booked, and it is urging visitors not to delay reserving a spot. Centre director Inese Priedīte says the festival concept emerged last year while assembling the venue's new team, and that the event drew strong attendance, confirming residents' appetite for such evenings.
Mākoņstūmēji return home
The band Mākoņstūmēji was formed in Smiltene 16 years ago, and at the festival it will present its new concert program titled "Kad mums vairs nebūs 16..." ("When We're No Longer 16..."). Frontman Māris Aizpurietis encourages attendees to arrive early, since the performance is structured as a full concert. He also notes that the band has never aimed to perform constantly, but plays because it brings enjoyment to both the musicians and their audience.
The local band Ceļojums returns to the lineup for a second year, while newcomers to the program are the country music acts Dakota and Zelta Kniede.
