Smiltene celebrates city festival with diverse activities
On July 18, Smiltene held its annual city festival featuring a market, National Guard equipment display, Youth Day, and a meeting with author Zane Daudziņa. Children enjoyed a transformer robot show, while moto/auto enthusiasts gathered for a rally.

On Saturday, July 18, the city of Smiltene celebrated its annual festival. Early in the morning, a market opened near the Jāņukalns stage, where locals and visitors could shop. Nearby, the National Guard (Zemessardze) demonstrated its equipment and gear.
At the Smiltene Art School yard, Youth Day "Mini Lēciens" took place, along with a reader meeting organized by the Smiltene District Library with author and actress Zane Daudziņa and publisher Vija Kilbloka, head of "Apgāds Zvaigzne ABC".
In the yard of the preschool "Pīlādzītis", children could participate in sports activities and the "Sport Analytik" program. At the Jāņukalns stage, children were entertained by a transformer robot show together with the musical group "PERFAM".
At the "Žāpurs" garage complex, a moto/auto gathering attracted many enthusiasts, where locals displayed their vehicles. The festival program also included other activities and evening concerts.
