Smiltene Library to Host Educational Film Session for Children with the Animated Characters Lupatiņi
On 14 November at 10:00, the children's department of Smiltene Library in Latvia will host a free educational film session for children aged two and up. The session is offered by the animation studio Atom Art.

The children's service department of Smiltene Library, in northern Latvia, will hold an educational film session on 14 November at 10:00, featuring the Latvian animated characters Lupatiņi (roughly "the Rag Kids"). The session is offered by the animation film studio Atom Art and is intended for children from the age of two. Admission is free.
What the session involves
The session lasts 45 minutes. During that time, children will watch recent animated short films and, together with the Lupatiņi, look for answers to questions from their everyday lives: how to deal with boredom, whether it is possible to travel with your eyes closed, how to tell the time, and why it is important to wash your hands.
In addition to the films, young visitors will learn how animated characters are made and see how many creative possibilities exist all around them. The different personalities and adventures of the Lupatiņi are meant to help children understand that everyone is different, unique and special.
Who the Lupatiņi are
The Lupatiņi – Zeķīte, Cimdiņš, Lakatiņš and Spilventiņš – are four fabric children who live in a fabric house with their wise friend, the Cat, and explore the world. The characters were created by writer Inese Zandere and textile artist Ūna Laukmane. They have delighted young audiences for several years, both in Latvia and abroad.
Additional information
The library will take photographs and film footage during the event for its own publicity purposes.
