Seven couples married on magical date 26.06.2026 in Smiltene Municipality
On June 26, seven marriages were registered in Smiltene municipality's registry office, while Valka municipality had one.
Many couples in Latvia chose June 26, 2026 (26.06.2026) as a magical date to get married. In Smiltene Municipality's Civil Registry Office, seven marriages were registered that day, while Valka Municipality's office registered one, according to Dace Ērģele, head of the Smiltene office.
Couples included both residents of Smiltene Municipality and people from other parts of Latvia. Ceremonies took place both inside the registry office and outdoors. The last ceremony on June 26 was held at 10:30 PM in Mēru Manor Park under an oak tree, fulfilling the couple's wish.
The next magical date is expected to be July 27, 2027. However, registrations can only be made six months in advance, so couples cannot yet book this date at the Smiltene office.
