Šmits becomes second Latvian basketball player in China's top league

Latvian basketball player Rolands Šmits will continue his career with China's Ningbo Rockets next season, becoming the second Latvian to play in China's strongest league.

Latvian basketball player Rolands Šmits is set to continue his career at the Chinese club Ningbo Rockets. The move was announced by Future Sports Group, the agency representing him.

The agreement with Šmits has been signed for one season, meaning he will spend the upcoming basketball year competing in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), regarded as China's strongest league.

With this transfer, Šmits becomes the second Latvian basketball player to compete in China's top-tier league, joining a small group of Latvian athletes who have gained experience in the Asian basketball market.
