Online users are sharing a video that shows Latvian police officers struggling to detain a suspected offender. The footage, captured by a witness, shows officers arriving at the scene in three cars. In the video, an officer tries to break a car window, but the suspect simply drives away, leaving the officers behind. The officers then get back into their vehicles and pursue the fleeing car, though the outcome is unknown.

The clip has drawn a lot of amused reactions, especially on the social media platform Threads. Commenters noticed both the officers’ clumsy attempts to get into the car and the fact that the suspect managed to drive away. The person who posted the video joked that the police should be issued proper equipment. Another commenter said that one officer seemed to be stroking the car while four others looked on; the poster replied that it was like a proper team. Others questioned why three police cars could not block a single vehicle in a limited space, and why the window was not broken.

Some commenters took a more critical view, saying the footage shows a need for a serious review of police work. Others preferred to see the funny side, noting that the music added to the video was a perfect match for the chaotic scene and reminded them of the classic Benny Hill show theme.
