Complaints emerge over rude public bus driver on Bauska route

A user named Kate posted on the social network Threads about an experience riding a public bus toward Bauska, during which the driver repeatedly made rude remarks to passengers boarding the vehicle, commenting on how they spoke or acted.

The situation escalated at a stop in Ķekava, when a passenger getting off the bus told the driver that such communication with clients was inappropriate. In response, the driver used crude and disrespectful language toward her.

The post drew significant attention online, with several commenters sharing their own experiences with rude public transport drivers. One commenter noted that buses operated by the company CATA are equipped with in-cabin cameras and suggested reporting the incident to the Road Transport Administration if similar surveillance equipment exists on Nordeka buses, the company involved in this case.

The original poster later said she contacted Nordeka directly. A staff member on the company's information line gave her the phone number of a company manager. After speaking with the manager, she learned that the company had already received around five similar complaint calls about this particular driver. The representative promised to review the matter and apply a penalty.
