IOC to Provide Financial Compensation to Athletes for Olympic Participation
The International Olympic Committee announced a new program that will offer financial compensation to every Olympian for taking part in the Games.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced on Wednesday a new initiative under which each athlete participating in the Olympic Games will receive financial compensation. Details of the program have yet to be disclosed, but this marks the first time the IOC will directly reimburse athletes for their participation. Previously, athletes received funding from national Olympic committees or sponsors. The IOC made this decision in an effort to improve athletes' well-being and financial stability. Further information on the amount of compensation and payment procedures will be provided later.
