Solovejs finishes sixth at Junior European Championships in canoeing; Ivanovs and Salzirne in B finals
Latvian athlete Solovejs placed sixth in the junior men's 1000m A final at the European Junior Championships in canoeing, while Artjoms Ivanovs (U23) and Maija Salzirne (juniors) competed in B finals.

At the European Junior and U23 Championships in Hungary, Latvian competitors achieved mixed results. In the junior A final, Solovejs covered the 1000m distance in 4 minutes and 4.827 seconds, finishing sixth and trailing winner Aleksandr Mineyev of Russia by 3.544 seconds.
In the women's junior B final, Maija Salzirne clocked 4:19.396 over 1000m, losing to Spain's Iriisa Korredoira by 6.667 seconds. She placed seventh in the B final and 16th overall.
In the U23 category, Artjoms Ivanovs completed the 1000m B final in 3:42.141, finishing fourth in his heat and 13th overall, losing to Italy's Luca Mikoti by 4.283 seconds.
The European Junior and U23 Championships in Hungary conclude on Sunday.
