Grandison explains that the banned substance did not enter his system intentionally, but rather as a result of medication that had been prescribed to him. Both the player and now the Finnish Basketball Association itself blame the national team's doctor for the mistake.
Lost job and significant money
Following the positive doping test, Grandison was released by the French club he played for at the time. Although his suspension period ended long ago, he still has not found a new club, resulting in considerable financial losses.
Criticism of the team's handling
Grandison expressed disappointment with how the national team's management and medical staff handled the situation. He believes the team failed to protect him when it mattered most. The player claims the team doctor lied to protect himself while Grandison's own name became tainted by the doping violation.
