Finnish president: Ukraine's position is strongest since start of war
Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated that Ukraine's position is the strongest it has been since the war began, and emphasized that Ukraine is ready for peace.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb said on Wednesday after a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Ukraine's position is now the strongest it has been since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
Stubb posted on X that the two leaders discussed Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and the path ahead. He stressed that continued support from partners is critical to maintain momentum and that Ukraine is ready for peace.
Separately, Zelenskyy recently noted that US President Donald Trump understands that Russia is the one not interested in ending the war. The Ukrainian leader revealed that a turning point in his relationship with Trump was a brief personal meeting at the Vatican, which took place at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome in April 2025.
