Finnish industry returns to growth: sales volume exceeds €91 billion
After several years of decline, the value of Finnish industrial production grew to €91.7 billion in 2025. The chemical sector remains the largest industry.

Finland's industrial sector has rebounded after a prolonged downturn. According to data published by Statistics Finland on July 2, the volume of industrial production in 2025 reached €91.7 billion.
The chemical industry remains the largest sector, with output valued at €18.2 billion – nearly 20% of total industrial production. The wood processing, pulp and paper, and printing industry came second at €17.4 billion. Machinery and equipment manufacturing followed closely with €17.2 billion, underscoring its key role in the Finnish economy.
Other major sectors include metallurgy with €13.8 billion and the food industry with almost €11 billion in output.
Revenue from subcontracting work amounted to €3.5 billion. The largest volumes of such orders were in metallurgy (€1.28 billion), chemicals (€997 million), and machinery (€672 million).
