Blood Donor Centre to hold 13 mobile donation events this week
Latvia's State Blood Donor Centre will run mobile blood donation events at 13 locations across the country this week.
The State Blood Donor Centre (VADC) will travel to multiple locations across Latvia this week to hold mobile blood donation events. According to the centre, a total of 13 such events are planned in various regions.
These mobile events are one way the centre tries to make blood donation more accessible for people living outside Riga, bringing the service closer to their place of residence. This allows those who find it difficult to travel to permanent donor centres in larger cities to still take part in donating blood.
Blood donation is an important process that ensures medical institutions have the necessary blood supplies for various treatments, including surgeries and emergency care. Regularly attracting donors is essential to maintaining adequate blood reserves in the country.
