Sony launches cheaper Bravia 6 OLED TV to rival midrange Samsung and LG sets
Sony has officially announced the Bravia 6 OLED TV, aimed at competing in the midrange segment against Samsung and LG models, after the device leaked earlier via the company's own website.

Sony has officially unveiled a new television, the Bravia 6 OLED, which slots below the company's higher-end OLED models, the Bravia 8 and Bravia 8 II, as well as below its RGB LED sets, the Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II. Notably, hints of the new model's existence surfaced back in June, when it unexpectedly appeared on a wall-mounting compatibility chart on Sony's own website.
The new TV will be available in five sizes, ranging from 48 to 83 inches, and its pricing is structured to compete directly with models such as the LG C6 OLED and the Samsung S90H QD-OLED. The Bravia 6 features a 120Hz panel, runs on Google TV with the Gemini assistant built in, and supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X formats for picture and sound. The set includes four HDMI 2.1 inputs.
Possible chipset
The presence of four HDMI 2.1 inputs could suggest that the Bravia 6 uses a MediaTek Pentonic 800 chip, one of the requirements for supporting the newer Dolby Vision 2 standard. However, Sony has not confirmed this detail.
Redesigned remote control
Compared to Sony's premium OLED lineup, the Bravia 6 ships with a redesigned remote control. The streaming service buttons have moved to the top instead of the bottom, a larger, more centralized directional pad is surrounded by home, settings, and back buttons, and volume and channel toggles sit in the lower third. The remote also includes a built-in microphone for voice control through Gemini.
Pricing
In the US, the Sony Bravia 6 OLED starts at $1,300 for the 48-inch model, $1,500 for the 55-inch version, $2,000 for the 65-inch set, $3,000 for the 77-inch model, and $4,000 for the largest, 83-inch option.
