Jānis Rāzna, host of the television show "Lauku sēta," successfully defended his master's thesis this summer and earned a master's degree in cybersecurity engineering. He shared details about the process with the magazine "Kas Jauns."
Rāzna revealed that earning the degree was no easy task — the process required extensive reading and writing, along with careful attention to correctly formatting all citations and references. He began working on his thesis back in winter, and it was only this summer that he could finally celebrate completing this significant educational milestone.
Why cybersecurity
Rāzna deliberately chose this professional direction, emphasizing that cybersecurity is a highly relevant and important topic today. Cybersecurity engineering is a field focused on protecting computers, phones, and information stored online from fraudsters and hacking attempts.
A dream vacation — traveling across Latvia
In the interview, Rāzna also shared how he would spend a free week of vacation. He admits he would remain a patriot and choose to travel within Latvia itself. Specifically, he would like to drive around visiting all the previous locations featured on the "Lauku sēta" show to see how they look now, while enjoying Latvia's nature. Although Rāzna also owns a bicycle that he occasionally uses to get around, for a longer trip across Latvia he would still prefer to travel by car.
