Tonight’s TV: Ramy returns, Elgar at the Proms, and a quirky robot seaside trip

Channel 4’s late-night slot brings Ramy Youssef’s acclaimed comedy-drama to UK terrestrial viewers, four years after its original release. The third season has aged well, according to the preview, with the second episode of the double bill featuring a particularly disastrous Tinder date.

Over on BBC Four, the Proms season dedicates an evening to Edward Elgar. Ryan Wigglesworth conducts the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in Elgar’s First Symphony, and archive footage recalls Sheku Kanneh-Mason’s earlier Proms performance of the Cello Concerto.

BBC One’s Scottish crime drama Granite Harbour continues its third season with the middle episode. After a murder weapon is found, DC Lindo, played by Romario Simpson, and his team believe they have the case figured out, but new information sends them in a darker direction.

Sky Atlantic’s Station Eleven offers a flashback to 2005, showing the origins of the graphic novel within the story. In Chicago, Miranda, portrayed by Danielle Deadwyler, is sketching Dr Eleven for the first time when actor Arthur, played by Gael García Bernal, becomes interested.

Ann Droid, on BBC One, follows Sue and her socially awkward carer robot Linda on a trip to the seaside. A fortune-teller passes on a message from Sue’s late husband, urging her to enjoy herself.

Sky One’s Grimsburg is an adult cartoon in which Jon Hamm voices pot-bellied detective Marvin Flute. He returns to his hometown to investigate bizarre cases.

Finally, Sky Cinema Premiere shows Ben Wheatley’s 2025 thriller Normal, starring Bob Odenkirk as a temporary sheriff in Normal, Minnesota. A bank heist goes wrong, and he realises the robbers are not the real threat. The film blends Wheatley’s slapstick gunplay from Free Fire with the deadpan tone of Fargo and Odenkirk’s unexpected action-hero presence.
