Spain win World Cup by beating Argentina 1-0

Spain claimed their second World Cup title with a 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina.

Spain's national football team won the World Cup for the second time in their history after a tense 1-0 victory over Argentina in New Jersey. The only goal came in extra time, scored by Ferran Torres, who fired past Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. Argentina played with 10 men for much of the match after Enzo Fernandez was sent off for a second yellow card. The tournament featured a record 104 matches.
