Spain defeated Belgium 2-1 in Los Angeles on Friday to advance to the World Cup semifinals for the second time in history, where they will meet France.

On Friday, July 11, in Los Angeles, the Spanish national team defeated Belgium 2-1 in the World Cup quarterfinal. This marks only the second time Spain has reached the semifinals of the tournament.
The winning goal came late in the match, capitalizing on an opponent's mistake. Belgian goalkeeper Senni Lamens, who had entered as a substitute, was unable to keep out the decisive strike.
In the semifinals, Spain will face the French national team, one of the tournament favorites. Both sides will compete for a spot in the final.
