Spanish nun's foundation delivers 45th aid convoy to Kyiv on Ukraine's Independence Day

A convent foundation based in Manresa, Catalonia, delivered its 45th humanitarian convoy to Kyiv on August 24, the day Ukraine marked its Independence Day. The delivery included an ambulance, a pickup truck, and five cars — six vehicles in total.

The vehicles were handed over to a border brigade engaged in fighting near Kharkiv, one of the most active sections of the front line in Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Vehicles of this kind are typically used to support unit mobility and the evacuation of the wounded close to combat zones.

Alongside this delivery, the foundation announced the opening of a new stage in its medical program, aimed at continuing support for Ukraine's armed forces.

The fact that the foundation, led by a nun, has now organized 45 such convoys reflects a sustained and regular commitment to aid efforts since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. Delivering this convoy on Independence Day itself underscores the symbolic weight of the support at a time when Ukraine continues to resist Russian aggression.

The foundation's work forms part of a broader international support network, in which private organizations and religious communities from various European countries continue to provide material assistance to Ukraine's military and civilians amid the war.
