Seventeen people were injured when a wagon of a tourist train overturned in the town of Cártama, southern Spain. The accident occurred shortly after 9:30 PM local time on Saturday evening, according to local authorities. The cause of the incident remains unknown.

Emergency services attended to the injured at the scene. Four individuals, including three children, were later taken to a nearby hospital. Local officials confirmed that none of the victims sustained serious injuries.

The train was a free service provided as part of the annual "la Ruta de la Tapa y el Cóctel" event, which encourages visitors to explore local businesses offering food and drinks. At the time of the accident, the train was carrying approximately 30 passengers.

Photographs shared on social media show emergency workers attending to a child sitting on the ground after the incident. The event, running from June 10 to 14, provides a map guiding participants to various restaurants and bars. The train would stop along the route to let passengers off at participating venues. Customers collect stamps by trying different food and drinks and are entered into a raffle for prizes.

According to local authorities, the accident occurred when the train was turning at a crossing on Santo Cristo road. Multiple calls were made to emergency services. The train service has been suspended for the weekend while investigations are ongoing.

Cártama is located in southern Spain, about 17 kilometers (10.6 miles) from the popular tourist city of Málaga, and a 44-minute drive from the wealthy resort town of Marbella.
