Experts Advise on How to Monitor and Reduce Home Electricity Consumption
On Latvijas Radio's program 'Kā labāk dzīvot', experts shared tips on tracking electricity usage and considering a switch to a stock exchange tariff.

As households add more electrical devices, it becomes increasingly important to monitor their energy efficiency and watch for changes in bills that could indicate issues. This advice was shared on Latvijas Radio's program 'Kā labāk dzīvot' by Inga Liene Sanžerevska, project manager at the Elektrum Energy Center, and Andrejs Kombecovs, a representative of Altero.
The experts noted that with the growing number of appliances, reviewing energy consumption habits is worthwhile. One possible solution is switching to a stock exchange tariff, which ties electricity prices to market rates. While this can lead to savings, it requires more careful planning of when to use electricity.
Regularly checking bills is also crucial, as sudden fluctuations may signal malfunctioning equipment or inefficient energy use. Diligent monitoring helps not only save money but also detect potential problems early.
