Special Tasks Battalion trains to quell riots and neutralise armed individuals
The State Police Special Tasks Battalion held exercises at the Mežaine training ground, practising responses to mass disorder and armed threats. The goal was to strengthen the battalion's capacity and its cooperation with other units.

The State Police Special Tasks Battalion organised exercises at the National Armed Forces training ground "Mežaine" on 7 October. The exercises were titled "Carrying out a special operation to suppress mass disorder and neutralising armed persons".
According to the available information, the aim of the event was to strengthen the battalion's capacity and improve its readiness to respond to various security threats.
During the exercises, particular attention was paid to cooperation with other police units. They were also designed to promote cross-border cooperation, which helps pool experience and coordinate action when a threat affects more than one country.
The scenarios covered two main areas: conducting a special operation to put an end to mass disorder, and neutralising armed individuals. Such training helps officers consolidate practical skills needed in complex and fast-moving conditions.
The State Police Special Tasks Battalion is one of the units involved in responding to high-risk incidents. Regular tactical exercises make it possible to test readiness and refine cooperation procedures among the services taking part.
