On July 25, a powerful storm with heavy rain and thunderstorms swept through Russia's Rostov region. According to Rostov-on-Don Mayor Alexander Skryabin on July 26, one person died and 28 others were injured as a result of the storm.
Due to the bad weather, 15 cities and districts in the region were left without electricity. Rostov and several other towns experienced water supply problems, which were restored by the morning of July 26. The storm damaged buildings and toppled hundreds of trees: more than a thousand in Rostov alone, according to the mayor.
