Heavy Rains Damage Sweet Cherry Harvest

Recent heavy rains in Latvia have dealt a significant blow to the sweet cherry harvest. Orchards are seeing widespread cracking and rot, raising concerns about the quality and volume of the yield.

To mitigate losses, many growers have reduced prices for pick-your-own cherries in an attempt to attract more customers. Additionally, some are considering freezing the berries to later use them for juice production, as a way to salvage part of the crop.
