The Binding of Isaac: Repentance+ Online console launch to clash with GTA 6 on November 19

Edmund McMillen's online multiplayer expansion for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Repentance+ Online, is set to launch on consoles on November 19 — the same day as Grand Theft Auto 6. The move stands out as other studios have shifted their release dates to dodge GTA 6.

While most game publishers this fall have been rearranging their release schedules to avoid competing with the highly anticipated launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, Edmund McMillen's team is taking the opposite approach. The console release of Repentance+ Online, the new chapter for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, is scheduled for November 19 — the exact same day GTA 6 is set to arrive.

Repentance+ Online adds a multiplayer layer to The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, enabling online co-op play for up to four people. The release bundles the entire roguelike game along with all of its expansions released over the years. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.

Already known on PC

The title has been available as a beta on PC since 2024, though it has received a mixed reception, with some players reporting performance issues and bugs.

It has been a busy year for McMillen, who earlier in February also released a separate, non-Isaac roguelike game called Mewgenics.
