Sports dancing is often not considered a 'real' sport, but in Latvia it deserves serious attention. According to local coach and judge Sergejs Sinkins, sports dancing is close in nature to figure skating—a gem of the Winter Olympics. Latvia is a world leader in this field, and in the near future, sports dancing could be included in the Olympic Games.
To get a closer look, dancers from the Vecrīga club were interviewed: Violeta Ļevčenko with Romāns Dobrecovs and Dana Ļebedeva with Kristiāns Kalvāns. Their long-term partnership on the dance floor is immediately visible, and their special connection is felt even off it. Sports dancing requires both physical prowess and artistry, demanding great discipline and teamwork.
