Spotify has rolled out a new feature called "User Notes," allowing listeners to add brief captions to individual tracks within their playlists. The notes can include memories about where they first heard a song or who introduced them to an artist, giving a personalized touch to digital music curation. The feature is available to users aged 16 and older on both free and premium plans, but only in select markets for now. Notes are visible to anyone who can view the playlist, so users are advised to check their privacy settings before sharing. To add a note, users can tap the three-dot menu next to a track and select "Add note." While not exactly the same as creating a physical mixtape, the feature evokes a nostalgic element in the streaming era.
