Spotify will let you fine-tune your weekly Release Radar playlist
Spotify introduces new controls to let listeners customize their weekly Release Radar playlist with options like genre focus and discovering new artists.

Spotify is giving listeners more control over what appears in their Release Radar, one of its most popular weekly playlists. The new options allow users to narrow the playlist to a specific genre, focus on artists that are new to them, and more. Listeners can choose from up to five options such as “Discover new artists,” “Editors’ picks,” and “Pop.” These features are rolling out now on mobile and desktop apps and will appear at the top of the Release Radar playlist once available.
Additionally, Spotify says it is making tweaks to the algorithm to deliver “more personalized recommendations” along with a fresh look featuring updated cover and header art. This is the latest in a series of recent changes to Spotify’s flagship playlists and music discovery features, including the launch of new release recommendations selected by editorial staff—a move seen as a response to growing pushback against algorithm-driven experiences.
