Spotify's Release Radar gets new personalization options to refine music recommendations
Spotify has updated its Release Radar playlist with refined session controls, allowing users to narrow down recommendations. Options like "Discover new artists" and "Editors' picks" are now available at the top of the playlist.

Spotify is rolling out an update to its Release Radar playlist, introducing new personalization options that give users more control over their music recommendations. The update is available on both mobile and desktop platforms, and users can tell if it's active by the new options appearing at the top of their Release Radar playlist.
These options include "Discover new artists," "Editors' picks," "Easy listen," and "Pop," among others. At any given time, up to five choices are displayed, allowing users to fine-tune the playlist to their taste and reduce the likelihood of encountering tracks they typically wouldn't enjoy.
In addition to the new session controls, Spotify has improved the overall recommendation system for Release Radar. The playlist also receives a refreshed look with a new cover image and header design.
First launched in 2016, Release Radar is a personalized mixtape that updates every Friday with up to two hours of music. It includes new tracks from artists the user already follows, along with suggestions from other artists that might be of interest. The latest enhancements let users customize this experience further, making it easier to discover music that suits their preferences.
